Chamber Scholarships

 

This year, the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce is presenting the John McEnhill Legacy Scholarship. This is one non-renewable scholarship award of $1000 available to a Floyd County graduating senior who is altruistically minded and demonstrates highly promising leadership and community involvement. This scholarship can be used for pursuing an undergraduate degree or fees associated with a reputable program that provides leadership development and/or community service training program.

The scholarship is to support students with a GPA of 2.0 and above who desire to bring their talents, abilities, and skills back to Floyd County and enhance our community through involvement and volunteerism.

In addition, the chamber offers two $500 scholarships. One scholarship is intended for a trade school/community college and one is for a four-year college/university. Eligible students include any graduating Floyd County resident senior who intends to attend a college or trade school.  Floyd County High School students, Springhouse Community School students, home-schooled students, and any other Floyd County youth that are planning to attend a qualified post-high school education program are encouraged to apply.

 

2021 Scholarship Recipients

  • Caileigh Chaffin received the scholarship for a four year college/university student.  She attends Radford University, majoring in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education.
  • Mitchell C. Cox received the scholarship for a community college/trade school student.  Mitchell attends New River Community College as a student in the welding program .

 

2022 Scholarship Applications
The chamber’s scholarship application form can be picked up from the guidance counseling office at Floyd County High School.
