Derek Wall

Originally from Southwest Virginia (Carroll County), Derek grew up in the area, attended college at Ferrum College and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2003. After moving away for a few years, he eventually came back to Southwest Virginia in 2007. With a background in Hotel Management (Managed Hotel Floyd for 8 years), customer service is instilled in his mind as a way of life. He and Kelly Thomas started Thomas and Wall Real Estate in 2011, as a way to provide great service for their clients and give them the tools they need to buy or sell in the SWVA area. He loves serving his clients and working on their behalf to find their dream home/property at the best price possible. He understands the complexities of rural property and is here to help with any questions and/or concerns someone might have. After graduating with a degree in finance and accounting, Craig worked in the energy industry for 25 years.  He held positions in audit, accounting, regulatory affairs, government relations, operations and business development.  He made a career change in 2014 and moved to Floyd after taking on the role of director of operations and controller for Chateau Morrisette.  He and his wife recently moved into their new home outside of Willis.  They have two children that reside in Texas.

Daniel grew up in Floyd County, which gives him a love for home and the people who live here and the people who want to live here.  On The Water is his business that allows him show people the beauty that Floyd County offers while relaxing on a Kayak or a float. He is also a real estate agent for Thomas and Wall Real Estate, where customer service is a requirement of the job. He does his best to help folks make their dreams of living in Floyd County become a reality from beginning to end. Giving back to the county that has given him so much is pleasure; he tries to do this with his time and donations whenever an opportunity presents itself.

Karin Grosshans

Karin Grosshans works at Skyline National Bank, where she is Branch Manager of the Floyd Branch.  Karin and her family moved to Floyd in 2006.  She is active in several organizations, including the Rotary Club of Floyd, Partnership for Floyd, Chamber representative on the Tourism Development Council, and SustainFloyd.  Karin has been a banker since 1989, and worked in non-profit administration before moving to Virginia.  She grew up in the Hudson Valley region of New York State.  Karin’s husband has taught at Christiansburg High School since 1988; they have two adult sons.

Ivan Anderson

Healing Tree Wellness Center

Ivan Anderson is a healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience—12 years in Managed Care and 11 years in Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.  Ivan has worked for two of the three largest health insurers in the Philadelphia metropolitan area with responsibilities in areas such as proposal writing, sales management and Actuarial systems analysis.  For eight years, he successfully ran his own software development company which provided management and technical oversight for the design, implementation and support of complex managed care data management and reporting systems for government, profit and nonprofit organizations.  Ivan ended his corporate career as a Senior Manager for Lockheed Martin where he helped Lockheed develop workflow processes to implement change within their Corporate Health and Wellness Organization.
Complementing his managed care career, Ivan is a Shiatsu Therapist and an Energy Medicine Practitioner.  He and his wife Lynise are co-owners of the Healing Tree Wellness Center, located in Floyd, Virginia. Here, Ivan continues to share his gift by helping clients improve their health and eliminate pain.  His work now extends beyond his locale and is being received across the U.S. and internationally.  Ivan is a Certified Shiatsu Practitioner and is a Master Karate Instructor.  He also has a B.B.A. degree in Actuarial Science from Temple University.

  Annie Badger is the artist and owner of Wild Weeds Studio.  She has lived and worked up and down the East coast.  Her career has included art wherever she was as well as a variety of diverse jobs, everything from Head Start to Hospice.
   This is the second time that Annie and her husband, Bob have moved to Floyd.  They actually live on the same street, just on different sides of the stoplight.
   Back in 1999 Annie was a Chamber member and secretary for the board.

Susan is owner and designer of Filamina Jewelry, LLC.   She has served the Chamber since 2016 and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Floyd Center of the Arts.
Susan grew up in Roanoke, VA and enjoyed a career in real estate for 25 years before starting her jewelry business in 2011.
Susan visited Floyd in 2000 and after residing in Christiansburg for 15 years, decided to make Floyd her home

Tabitha “Beth” Burgess joined the Chamber Board at the beginning of 2019 and serves as the Leadership Floyd Program Facilitator A solopreneur, originally from Floyd with more than 20 years of professional experience in operational and project management, marketing, and creative content development, Beth is the leading taskmaster and owner of Smart View Consulting offering focused, strategic, and helpful business services and support. Beth is also a Registered Professional Archaeologist and is a technical expert in the field of Cultural Resources Management specializing in geoarchaeology and GIS. Within the Floyd community, she volunteers her skills and time as a community organizer and the Treasurer for the La Leche League of Floyd County, and serves a board member of the Floyd County Historic Preservation Trust. Outside of work, Beth enjoys grilling and being outside with her family, gardening, and making fermented foods. More recently, she has taken on podcasting with her friend Siobhan and created a locally based and focused show called, Floyd Thyme.

Jason serves as the Director of Programming for Chantilly Farm, an affiliate venue of The Crooked Road that features a 200 acre campground and events venue located in central Floyd County. Jason also serves on the Board of Directors for the Floyd Center for the Arts and is involved in producing a wide range of festivals and music events in our region. With roots in the area that date back to the 1760's, Jason has a true passion for promoting all things Floyd

John Getgood

John graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point with a BS degree in 1960. During his 30 years of service he spent over 8 years in Germany and served two combat tours in Vietnam.  He retired at the rank of Colonel in 1990. John taught Chemistry at his alma mater after receiving his MA in Chemistry from John Hopkins University. During his first “retirement,” John spent 11 years in the corporate world as Director. of Corporate Development for a telecommunications engineering firm in VA Beach. He’s now in his “second retirement” as a gentleman farmer in Floyd County, staying involved in many civic and nonprofit activities including, the Floyd Co. Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and has served two terms as President of the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as an elder of the Floyd Presbyterian Church. John is currently the Treasurer of Blue Ridge Heritage, Inc.

Scott Griffin is the Floyd Area Executive for Skyline National Bank.  Scott joined the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce board in January of 2019.  Scott has served on the board of several non-profit organizations including the United Way of Martinsville-Henry County, The Virginia Museum of Natural History, Southside Survivor Response Center, and the Chamber’s Partnership for Economic Growth for the Martinsville Henry County Chamber of Commerce.  Scott is a member and the Immediate Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Martinsville.  Scott is a graduate of The University of Virginia’s College at Wise with a B.S. in Business Administration.  Also, Scott is a graduate of the Virginia Banker’s Association School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia.  Scott resides in Patrick County with his wife and two daughters.  Scott enjoys spending late nights outside in the dead of winter with a camera creating long exposure work of the stars and bygone structures or cars.

Amanda was born and raised in Floyd County.  She graduated from Floyd County High School and attended New River Community College.  She has worked at Union Bank & Trust (formerly known as Stellar One) for 18 years.  She and her husband of 18 years, Jason Lawrence, have been blessed with 3 wonderful sons—Matthew, Devan, and Jayden.

Shep Nance

Shep Nance was born and raised in south Texas (Beeville, Texas), went to school in Texas and graduated from Sam Houston University. After college he joined Southwestern Bell Telephone and remained in the telecommunication industry his whole career until retiring from Nortel Networks.  Shep and his wife, Angie, moved to Floyd County in 2010 when they purchased and operated the Woodberry Inn, before selling it in 2019.  They have one daughter, Natalie, who lives in Philadelphia. Shep has been a member of the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce since 2010, serving on the board for over seven years.  He has been very active in promoting tourism in Floyd County

Lori Saltus

Lori Saltus serves as the EVP of Customer Relations and Marketing for Citizens, a regional full-service communications and entertainment provider. She has 30 years of experience in the field of Marketing beginning her marketing career with the former, FNB Corporation. Lori now leads the Sales and Marketing team at Citizens.  Lori loves being a part of the Citizens family and will celebrate her 15th year with the Cooperative in 2019. In 2015, she was recognized by the NTCA, The Rural Broadband Association, for a "Complete Marketing Campaign" bringing home the First Place TeleChoice Award.
As a Floyd County native and FCHS graduate, Lori shares her passion for her community by supporting the local school, her church, and community functions.  Besides the Chamber, she is involved with the Floyd County Women's Club and the Floyd County Business & Merchant's Association.
She is married to Dean Saltus, Designer at Ideal Cabinets in Christiansburg. Together, they enjoy family time with children and grandchildren. With working and supporting communities outside of Floyd for many years, Lori is glad to dedicate time to the community in which she lives and raises her family.


John McEnhill
Executive Director

John McEnhill became Executive Director shortly after retiring as Executive Director of Floyd Center For the Arts (Formerly known as The Jacksonville Center for the Arts) after ten years of service at the center.  John had served on the Chamber board since 2004 with a one-year break, including two terms as President.  Since 2002, John has been a board member of New River Community Action and has been Chair of the Board for the past five years.  He served for 9 years on the Board of Directors for Tri Area Community Health (including five terms as Board Chair) until 2016.  He is also a member of the Floyd County Tourism Advisory Board.  John relocated to Floyd from the San Francisco Bay Area in 2001 and has a farm in Indian Valley.  John's professional background includes facilities management, paralegal work, retail management and other nonprofit management.  After playing in national tournaments around the United States as a much younger amateur circuit player, he still has a passion for tennis and follows tennis news daily.

Resa Mattson

Finishing up her senior at Floyd County High School, Resa has been a member of The Pride of Floyd County Marching Band for 5 years, been on the honor roll every year of high school, and became the treasurer of the Beta Club. Resa began her internship at the Floyd Chamber of Commerce in November of 2018, learning more and more about Floyd and the businesses that support the community.
Resa has a passion for helping and encouraging others.

Resa has 3 older siblings, Leanna, Monika, and Chris, and lives with her parents, Randy and Tracey Mattson; all very loving, respectful, and supporting. She lives with her 11 cats, each with their own personality, including Fatboy; her favorite cuddle buddy. Growing up on a farm, Resa loves to spend time roaming in the woods and sitting in the sun. She likes to help her parents tend to the garden and take pictures of the flowers. Her family proudly owns their own business: Willow Creek Cottages. Resa is very proud of growing up in Floyd her entire life and would like to continue to help her community in any way possible.
