Joy Gardner
Citizens

Joy has served on the Board since 2008, promoting  Floyd County to Businesses and Tourist in the  New River  Valley and beyond.  Joy is an Account Executive for Citizens, a regional full service communications provider.  Joy has been with Citizens since 2000 starting out in residential customer service and moving to Business Development in 2007.

Her background in Customer Service began in 1986 working for Wolf Camera & Video in Atlanta, GA managing their downtown location.  She moved to Virginia in 1989 working at Ferrum College while pursuing a degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration.  She and her husband moved back to Floyd in 1994 where she managed her family’s True Value Hardware store for 6 ½ years before starting at Citizens.

She is married to Bobby L Gardner Jr, Co-Owner and Manager of Gardner Funeral Home, and she has two grown boys, Adam and Baily that she is most proud of.  Her personal interest include: gardening, camping, and horseback riding.

Lisal Kayati Roberts
Bella La Vita Inn

Lisal established, owns and runs Bella La Vita Inn, with her husband, Matthew.  She has served the Chamber since 2011.  She co-chaired the local chapter of the Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway for 3 years and continues to act as a volunteer.  She serves on the Floyd Tourism Advisory Board. She presently heads the Floyd Lodging Association.

Lisal has worked in the hospitality industry in one capacity or another her entire career starting with 10 years at AAA of Virginia/Mid-Atlantic.  She is an award-winning author of poetry and short stories.  A compilation of her early work, Dark Matter, poems, published in 2001, continues to sell.  She is gathering material for a book about Bella and has a children’s book in the works.

Lisal visited Floyd for 20 years before making it home.  Her only regret is that she didn’t move here sooner! Lisal and Matt love being ambassadors of their community as they welcome visitors from around the world to their B&B

Karin is the Market Manager for the Floyd office of Bank of Floyd, where she is responsible for consumer and commercial business development and lending.  Her favorite part of her job is community involvement, and she belongs to several groups in Floyd.  Karin is the Treasurer of Partnership for Floyd, President Nominee of the Floyd Rotary Club, a Board Member of Blue Cow Arts, and a member of the Town of Floyd Loan Pool Committee.  In the past she was a member of the Development Committee at Jacksonville Center for the Arts, the Floyd County Land Use Committee, and Community in Schools.  Karin is originally from New York State, where she received a degree in English Literature from Vassar College.  She worked in non-profit administration before starting a career in banking 27 years ago, when her family moved to Christiansburg.  Karin’s husband Kurt has taught at Christiansburg High School since 1988.  They moved to Floyd in 2006, and have two sons.  Coming to Floyd is the best decision they ever made!

Ivan Anderson
The Healing Tree 

Ivan Anderson is a healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience—12 years in Managed Care and 11 years in Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.  Ivan has worked for two of the three largest health insurers in the Philadelphia metropolitan area with responsibilities in areas such as proposal writing, sales management and Actuarial systems analysis.  For eight years, he successfully ran his own software development company which provided management and technical oversight for the design, implementation and support of complex managed care data management and reporting systems for government, profit and nonprofit organizations.  Ivan ended his corporate career as a Senior Manager for Lockheed Martin where he helped Lockheed develop workflow processes to implement change within their Corporate Health and Wellness Organization.

Complementing his managed care career, Ivan is a Shiatsu Therapist and an Energy Medicine Practitioner.  He and his wife Lynise are co-owners of the Healing Tree Wellness Center, located in Floyd, Virginia. Here, Ivan continues to share his gift by helping clients improve their health and eliminate pain.  His work now extends beyond his locale and is being received across the U.S. and internationally.  Ivan is a Certified Shiatsu Practitioner and is a Master Karate Instructor.  He also has a B.B.A. degree in Actuarial Science from Temple University.

Ivan and his wife reside in Floyd with his step-daughter Cierra.

Craig Chancellor
Chateau Morrisette Winery

After graduating with a degree in finance and accounting, Craig worked in the energy industry for 25 years.  He held positions in audit, accounting, regulatory affairs, government relations, operations and business development.  He made a career change in 2014 and moved to Floyd after taking on the role of director of operations and controller for Chateau Morrisette.  He and his wife recently moved into their new home outside of Willis.  They have two children that reside in Texas.

Linda Fallon
The Jacksonville Center for the Arts

Prior to coming to Floyd, Linda was the Executive Vice President, Managing Director of Healthworld Corp. (Ogilvy Healthworld), a healthcare marketing and advertising agency in NYC. Over the years, her clients included Merck, Pfizer, Sanofi and J&J. During her career, she won a Clio award and an RX award for excellence in advertising.  After leaving New York and for nine years, Linda and her husband, Ed, split their time between Berlin, Germany and Floyd. 

In Floyd, Linda became involved with The Jacksonville Center, serving on the Board for several years before assuming the presidency. She is also on the Board of Trustees of Opera Roanoke, the Advisory Board of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Music Festival having served as President of the Board for two and a half years, the Floyd County’s Woman’s Club, and past Board member of NRVCS. She is an avid advocate for the arts.

Jason serves as the Lead Promoter and Director of Marketing for Chantilly Farm, an affiliate venue of The Crooked Road that features a 200 acre campground and events venue located in central Floyd County. Jason also serves on the Board of Directors for the Jacksonville Center for the Arts and is involved in producing a wide range of festivals and music events in our region. With roots in the area that date back to the 1760's, Jason has a true passion for promoting all things Floyd.

John graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point with a BS degree in 1960. During his 30 years of service he spent over 8 years in Germany and served two combat tours in Vietnam.  He retired at the rank of Colonel in 1990. John taught Chemistry at his alma mater after receiving his MA in Chemistry from John Hopkins University.
 During his first “retirement,” John spent 11 years in the corporate world as Director. of Corporate Development for a telecommunications engineering firm in VA Beach. He’s now in his “second retirement” as a gentleman farmer in Floyd County, staying involved in many civic and nonprofit activities including, the Floyd Co. Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and has served two terms as President of the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as an elder of the Floyd Presbyterian Church. John is currently the Treasurer of Blue Ridge Heritage, Inc.

Amanda Lawrence

Amanda was born and raised in Floyd County.  She graduated from Floyd County High School and attended New River Community College.  She has worked at Union Bank & Trust (formerly known as Stellar One) for 15 years.  She and her husband of 15 years, Jason Lawrence, have been blessed with 3 wonderful sons—Matthew, Devan, and Jayden. 

Rachel Pearson
Union Way of Montgomery, Radford and Floyd

Rachel has been the Development Associate at United Way of Montgomery, Radford and Floyd since 2014,  and supports campaign, marketing, fundraising, and donor information management activities. She received a BS from Virginia Tech in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources and International Business in 2013. Rachel currently lives in Christiansburg with her husband Leland, and their 5 month old son, Grant. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys volunteering with Young Life in the New River Valley, traveling, drinking coffee with friends, and watching Tech football. Go Hokies!

Laura Jo Powell
Hotel Floyd

Laura Powell returned to Floyd as Manager of Hotel Floyd in December 2015. Her background includes 26 years in the casino industry on the Las Vegas strip where she worked for Caesar's Entertainment and held positions as a dealer and pit supervisor. Coming back to Floyd with our clean air and water and friendly people is her dream come true.

Derek Wall

Derek was born in SW Virginia in 1980 and after graduating from Carroll County High School he attended Ferrum College and was a member of the football team.  After attending Ferrum College for 2 years he transferred to Virginia Tech where he graduated with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.  After graduation, Derek moved on to Raleigh, NC and Charleston, SC where he started a career in the hotel industry.  In 2007, he moved back to SW Virginia to manage Hotel Floyd and eventually starting Thomas & Wall Real Estate in 2011.

John McEnhill became Executive Director shortly after retiring as Executive Director of Floyd Center For the Arts (Formerly known as The Jacksonville Center for the Arts) after ten years of service at the center.  John had served on the Chamber board since 2004 with a one-year break, including two terms as President.  Since 2002, John has been a board member of New River Community Action and has been Chair of the Board for the past five years.  He served for 9 years on the Board of Directors for Tri Area Community Health (including five terms as Board Chair) until 2016.  He is also a member of the Floyd County Tourism Advisory Board.  John relocated to Floyd from the San Francisco Bay Area in 2001 and has a farm in Indian Valley.  John's professional background includes facilities management, paralegal work, retail management and other nonprofit management.  After playing in national tournaments around the United States as a much younger amatuer circuit player, he still has a passion for tennis and follows tennis news daily.
